Many of us begin the year with New Year's resolutions and an ambitious list of goals to accomplish within the span of the year. While the intentions are great, they often lack follow-through.

Danielle decided to prepare for San Diego's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.

Twenty-four year old Danielle Sowersby decided that 2009 was the year she would run her very first marathon and use it as a tool to raise money for the Rock Church Prison Ministry’s "Angel Tree Camp."

Danielle describes herself as a "big goal" type of person: physically active and quite busy. She works three jobs, is planning her summer wedding, is active in a small group, and is a leader in the Prison Ministry. Then she added training for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.

Don't just sit there, grab your friends for High School Ministry's DO Something Movement! Join us at the Rock as we learn how to be on the front lines of God's ARMY. Activities include service projects, sports/music clinics, beach fun, and more. Cost: $150 ($175 after June 30).

 

Frontlynaz Conference
Friday, July 17 - Saturday, July 18, 2009

God is raising up the next generation to be on the front lines of His ARMY. A generation of DO Something followers of Christ. Join Lecrae and the 116 Clique, July 17-18, 10 AM - 9 PM at the Rock for the Frontlynaz Conference. The conference also includes a concert with the 116 Clique. Cost: $35 ($40 after July 1).

 

Fitness & Nutrition Class
Saturday, July 18, 2009 · 6 PM

Build muscle, get lean, lose weight, or just feel great with the Rock Fitness and Nutrition Ministry. They will be holding a 6-week body challenge event. Cost: $30 per person/$46 per pair. All proceeds will benefit the Rock Homeless Ministry.

 

KidsGames
Monday, July 20 - Thursday, July 23, 2009
8:30 AM - 12 PM

Load your mini-vans with kids in grades K-5 and bring them to KidsGames, an Olympic-style sports event. KidsGames uses sports and activities to teach faith-based values. Kids can choose from basketball, hula, volleyball, martial arts, boxing, soccer, hip hop dance, baseball/softball, and flag football. Cost: $20.

 

Women's Retreat
Friday, August 7 - Sunday, August 9, 2009

Grab your girlfriends and join us August 7-9 for the 9th Annual Rock Church Women's Retreat.
Relax and soak in the hot springs, socialize at the coffeehouse, worship with the Mike Clark band, and leave transformed by the Word. This year's speaker is Debbie Alsdorf of Design4Living. She will encourage women to get serious about their faith and live in the full design set out for them as God's girls. Cost: $185.
